Scream 6 Will Be Gorier with the Aggressive and Violent Ghostface

March 31, 2023 is the theatrical release of the next installment of the Scream Franchise, and the shooting of this new Film – we will call it Scream 6 until we are told otherwise – should begin overnight. The cast of the previous film Melissa Barrera (who played Samantha Carpenter), Jasmine Savoy Brown (who played Mindy Meeks-Martin), Mason Gooding (who played Mindy’s brother Chad Meeks-Martin) and JENNA Ortega (who played Sam’s sister Tara Carpenter) are all back for this movie – and speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Ortega said

Ortega said (with thanks to Variety for the transcript),

Ghostface is getting a lot more intimidating. I just read part of the script and it’s getting bloodier and bloodier. I think this is probably the most aggressive and violent version of Ghostface that we have ever seen, which I think will be really fun.”

The Stars of the return of Scream (2022) include Dermot Mulroney (Young Guns) and Hayden Panettiere, who will reprise the role of Kirby Reed from Scream 4. It doesn’t look like Neve Campbell will be back as Sidney Prescott, but Courteney Cox liked the script for the new movie, so there’s a chance she’ll return as Gale Weathers.

Scream 6 comes to us from the same creative team that is the sequel to the recent past: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett conceptualize from a script by James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. This one will show us what happens when

the four survivors of the murders left by Ghostface have appeared seemingly uninvited and are starting a new chapter.

Vanderbilt produced Scream 6 with Paul Neinstein and William Sherak for Project X Entertainment. Scream’s original screenwriter, Kevin Willamson, is executive producer alongside Chad Villella, Ron Lynch, Cathy Konrad, Marianne Maddalena, Gary Barber and Peter Oillataguerre from Spyglass.

The latest Version is now streaming via the Paramount plus service, and a 4K UHD Digital Version can be purchased from this link. The DVD can be ordered here, the Blu-ray is available here and the 4K UHD disc is available here.

Scream (2022) also received a double release, where it is packaged with the Original Scream from 1996. You can get the double feature on Blu-ray here and on 4K UHD at this link.
