Batman vs Batman Begins Face Off

Batman will always be the most vicious superhero of all time; the solemn dark Knight with perhaps the most tragic origin story of all-and that includes The Explosion of Superman’s home planet, Krypton. The guy doesn’t even have superpowers… unless you become rich. We’ve seen many iterations of the hooded cruiser over the years, where various actors have donned the cape and hood to fulfill the bat signal. We could participate in a Batman Battle Royale if we had about ten hours to dive into all the versions of Gotham’s beloved and feared Savior.

With The Dark Knight’s latest outing in Matt Reeves’ The Batman being a huge hit with audiences, with Robert Pattinson receiving rave reviews for his first appearance as the world’s greatest detective, we thought it was the perfect time to revisit some of the earlier Batmen first episodes in their respective franchises —

Between the founder of Batman, Tim Burton, and Chris Nolan’s brilliant reboot in 2005, these two films could be the most important in the character’s cinematic history. The films have taken different approaches to reintroduce the character to moviegoers; although the basics of the superhero are quite consistent, they are very different films and ingenious visions. And although we both love it, it’s time to throw Batman into the Ring with none other than Batman… himself.

Does this make us super-villains? Maybe! So let’s turn on the Batmobile and sharpen a few rows of bats. You know it’s time to do it… PARTICIPATE!

This episode of Face Off was written by Eric Walkuski, narrated by Shawn Knippelberg and edited by Lance Vlcek. Watch more personal episodes below and let us know in the comments which of the first parts of The Dark Knight you prefer-Batman (1989) or Batman Begins!
